FAQS

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

What we do

  • What are your services?

Avail serves New Yorkers through four programs.

    Empower

We advocate for women and men facing unexpected pregnancy, listening to their stories and concerns. We offer a safe, confidential setting where they can process emotions, doubts, and important questions.

    Equip

For our clients who choose to move forward with their pregnancy, we provide parenting support. We assist them in practical needs, such as labor and delivery classes or training from a professional financial advisor.

    Hope

We provide women and men the opportunity to process an abortion experience one-on-one or in a group, without judging their past or presuming how they ought to feel.

    Flourish

For clients seeking to rethink their needs and priorities concerning a current or former romantic partner, we provide healthy relationships advocacy. These one-on-one meetings facilitate deeper self-awareness and maturity.

  • Do you provide or refer for abortions?

Avail is not a medical center, nor do we refer for abortions.

  • Do you offer services in person?

Our office is currently closed due to COVID-19, but you can still schedule a virtual appointment and meet with our Client Advocates.

  • Do I have to pay for an appointment?

Nope! All of our programs and services are free and confidential.

Who we are

  • Do you have a religious affiliation?

Avail has a Christian orientation. Our staff and volunteers share a common faith in Christ.

We also have the honor of serving New Yorkers from every cultural and religious background. Our compassionate advocacy is for everyone, and is never withheld nor reduced based on a client's ethnicity, economic status, religion, political beliefs, or sexual orientation.

  • Do you have a political stance or affiliation?

    Avail is a non-political organization.

Our staff and volutneers do not drag politics to work. Our client care is never affected or motivated by a political agenda.

  • Does Avail support reproductive rights?

Reproductive rights are intertwined with an intense political debate. As a non-political organization, Avail cannot comment on legal or political questions. Those matters affect our work, but our focus is on the personal needs of our clients.

To identify by either of abortion's political factions would alienate a portion of the women and men we serve. We affirm our clients' agency, and we believe that abortion is never their best or only option.

  • Is Avail a crisis pregnancy center?

We are not. Avail's model of care transcends the labels of political rhetoric and the assumtions they carry.

We don't identify ourselves as a crisis pregnancy center because we aren't one.
